Spiral Cooling Conveyors
T&T worked for many years on remanufacturing and upgrading all kinds of spiral conveyor technology, produced by various North American and European manufacturers. This hands-on knowledge led us to designing and manufacturing our own spiral conveyor technology. We did not intend to reinvent the spiral cooling conveyor, just to build and improve upon the old design with a better, more reliable, low maintenance and longer lasting drive system.
We redesigned and eliminated the typical main cage drive with the very large size cumbersome drive chain and tooth segments by going to a main cage with gear drive, incorporating a thrust bearing. T&T applied for and received a US Design Improved Patent. This spiral cooling conveyor design was also successful in becoming a sanitary solution. T&T received the Eco Design and Sustainable Technology award from the American Society of Baking (ASB) for its design improvement.
While continuing design improvements on our spiral cooling conveyors, we have made changes to and developed our own electrical control system. With this new control, we’re able to maintain the preprogrammed slippage of the belt against the drive cage, reducing wear and providing longer life to the UHMW drive caps. With this design improvement, we also achieved product load sensing characteristics between the main cage and take up drive motor.
MATERIALS: Aluminum or St. St. bolted frame, with Stainless or plastic belting.
